Pearl Taylor

Pearl is a registered Art Therapist and spiritual care Advocate, running the Art.Thou.Studio within Melbourne Integrative Therapies, Thornbury.
Her work in private practice is motivated by creativity, empowerment and client-centered care.

After becoming a high school art teacher (Bachelor of Art Education), Pearl went on to gain a depth and breadth of educational experience in mainstream, disability and behaviour management schools. Whilst she LOVED teaching, there was something missing from the educational setting and Pearl had an inkling she knew what it was. It was through obtaining a Masters in Art Therapy (La Trobe) that she could consolidate the audacity to believe that creativity is not optional for our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

More recently, Pearl has gone one step further and explored the idea that 'therapy' itself contains so much of the spiritual care/pastoral care sector. It was through a Graduate Certificate in Divinity (Pilgrim), that Pearl could consolidate the resonances between spiritual care, mental health, and creativity.

Not shying away from the hard stuff - Pearl continues to develop professionally and seek interrelationships between the above fields. Currently Pearl is training inInternal Family Systems.

Pearl has had the pleasure of bringing creativity, warmth and self knowledge to Hopesprings, Orygen, CATA, Melbourne City Mission, Yooralla disability services, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Mind Australia, The Lighthouse Foundation, MacKillop and Uniting family services.

Pearl is: a bright spark, a calm presence, a deep listener, inclusive and welcoming, flexible, person-centered and a clever cookie.
